The BC Premier Schedule has been released for 2016 and the first thing you notice is the season has been shortened by a week. In 2015 there were 2 Bye Weekends and a Makeup Weekend and the season ended May 9th. This year there is one Bye Weekend and one Makeup Weekend and the season ends April 30th.
The reason likely is to put more focus on the BC Bears who start their season May 14th with the regional selection matches and then incoming tours and CRC matches.
Each of the 9 teams get 8 matches, the mainland teams generally have to traverse the Strait twice while Island teams take the ferry trip three times. There are three playoff rounds from quarter-final to semi-final.
There's no club rugby the weekend of March 12th when the Vancouver 7s is being held. Easter as usual is a Makeup Weekend. Download full schedule with times and fields in .pdf format
