[ed. comments below] PRO Rugby
The 5 PRO Rugby teams (Denver, Ohio, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco) have started their training camps and the question is which Canadian players will be playing in the league. We've already heard Ray Barkwill (Sacramento) and Phil Mackenzie (San Diego) announce their contracts but apparently Hubert Buydens (San Diego) and Nick Blevins (San Francisco) are also bound for the USA league. Canada had an option to have a Vancouver team but apparently Rugby Canada didn't sanction the league as they are holding onto their regional Canadian Rugby Championship (CRC) format which they've been pushing in recent years. That means Canadian players don't get paid to play unless they head south of the border. Previously the only way for Canadians to get paid to play rugby was to secure a national 7s team contract or get a contract in a pro league overseas.
We'll post more Canadian PRO Rugby signings when they become available. Canada v Chile ARC Match
With all the excitement of the Vancouver 7s the Americas Rugby Championship faded into the background but many Canadian fans haven't seen video of the final match between Canada and Chile. Here is the game in four parts.

The NFL's New England Patriots are tasting the Olympic dream by allowing one of their players, Nate Ebner, to take a leave of absence to train with USA Rugby. We should see him involved with the USA team in one of the upcoming World Rugby tournaments. Ebner played rugby as a youth before playing football and getting an NFL pro contract. Read more at NFL.com
