It was an unusual high school 7s season for the boys this year. Normally it preceded the XVs tournament, similar to the girls schedule, and there was much more visibility to the event with regional qualifying tournaments. This year it was held the weekend after the XVs tournament and some high profile schools didn't enter teams. Shawnigan Lake and Oak Bay were noticeably absent, only three Island schools entered teams. We hope to find out more about the reasoning behind the changes to the 7s schedule, with 7s a new Olympic sport this year it seems counter-intuitive to schedule it this way.

St. George's hosted the event and were defending champions, they were defeated by Earl Marriott of Surrey. R.E. Mountain of Langley won the Tier 2 title so a good day for Fraser Valley schools.
