John Cannon Memorial Touch Tournament

The John Cannon Memorial Touch Tournament just wrapped up its first event for a great cause. Proceeds go into a scholarship for Abbotsford and area rugby players in memory of John Cannon. There's a fund set up on the Canadian Rugby Foundation website and you can make a tax deductible donation online.

The winners, going by the photo, seem to have a few ringers.

Seattle at USA National Club 7s

Seattle were looking to repeat as men's USA club 7s champions again this year but ran into a hot Rugby Utah team that knocked them out of the Cup round in the quarter-finals. Utah are growing in rugby stature in the US and they'll face Old Blue of New York in one semi while Chicago and Kansas City meet in the other.

On the women's side Seattle were Cup runners up last year but they also won't be advancing to the semis being knocked out of the QF by Old Blue. The Cup semis will be between a couple of Academy sides in one draw, ARPTC v Scion and Old Blue vs Oregon on the other draw.
