Rugby Weekend of July 1st

BC's Regional Youth Championships (PRCs) Start Saturday; Canada v USA Men's World Cup Qualifier; Toronto Wolfpack vs York City

posted June 30 2017

BC Regional Youth Championships

The PRCs start this weekend and run for three days. The regions include Vancouver, Fraser Valley, North Island, South Island and Okanagan with some regions entering more than one team per division. The competition includes U14/U16/U18 boys and girls.

The Day 1 schedule is below (click image for larger view):

Canada v USA World Cup Qualifier

All on the line with the teams tied going into the second match. Winner books a place in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, loser takes on Uruguay next year for another place as Americas 2. Kickoff is 3pm PT and is on TSN 3 and TSN GO and apparently on WorldRugby.org for international viewers.

Toronto Wolfpack v York City

Quinn Ngawati the 18 year old from Victoria may get in the match this Saturday vs York City, the rosters haven't been released yet. The Toronto team haven't had a Canadian player take the field yet in a regular season match, July 1st would be appropriate for such an appearance.
