OURFC vs Canada - Repechage 2018 warmup
©

Repechage Notes; World Classics in Bermuda; This Weekend's November Tests

Repechage Notes

Hong Kong came out with a credible result versus the Newport based Dragons PRO 14 squad. It wasn't actually the full senior squad but a mix of U23 and 1st team players. After Hong Kong went ahead 19-7 at the half, the Dragons brought on five more 1st team players (4 tight five, 1 back) and just barely squeezed out a 28-24 win. Hong Kong by our estimate will give Canada the most challenging match at the repechage.

Canada meanwhile are playing Oxford University on Wednesday. Oxford released their roster but Rugby Canada are being very hush, hush on what they're doing, no roster or mention of video coverage on the RC website or social media channels.

World Classics

An interesting roster for Canada Classics at the annual Bermuda based World Rugby Classics. Jeff Hassler and Aaron Carpenter headline the Canada squad. Besides the list below we've heard Nanaimo's firefighting rugby star Jared Stephens will be joining them along with Ryan Banks and Scott Franklin. They open Sunday against the always tough Classic Springboks.
