Tyler Ardron Named to Barbarians Squad for November Tour - Matches Versus Fiji, Brazil and Wales



For those having post RWC withdrawals, looking for Internationals to watch and desperately wanting to see a Canadian XVs player on the winning side. We have good news. Tyler Ardron has been named to the Barbarians side to face Fiji, Brazil and Wales this month.

The tour starts off in Twickenham on November 16th against Fiji, then a quick change of location to São Paulo, Brazil for the Brazil match on the 20th, followed by a little more prep time for the Wales match in Cardiff on the 30th.

There are 9 South Africans on the squad, including 3 from the RWC winning team, 4 Australians, 3 from Argentina, and players from Ireland, France, Canada, Fiji, NZ, Scotland plus 4 uncapped players.

Canada have played the Barbarians twice, a draw in 1962 and a loss in 1976. Of the current teams for this tour, the Barbarians have a 2-1 record vs Fiji, a loss in 1970, followed by wins in 2013 and 2016. The Barbarians have never played Brazil but have lost to some unusual Tier 2 teams like Russia in 1992 and Zimbabwe in 1994. The Barbarians have played Wales 9 times, compiling a 6-3 record, the last match in 2012 was won by Wales.

The Saturday match against Fiji will kickoff 2:30pm local time so 6:30am on the west coast.
