UBCOB Ravens Seeking Head Coach for 2020/2021 Season

Title: UBCOB Ravens Head Coach
Reports to: UBCOB Ravens President
Start Date: June 2020
Season: September – May
Compensation: Dependent on Experience

Purpose: The UBCOB Ravens head coach primary purpose is to implement an inclusive and enjoyable training environment for players of all abilities. Adhering to a history of high standards both on and off the field, the head coach will lead the senior men’s program to continue to build on this legacy.

Key Duties:
• Designing, planning and implementing a weekly coaching program for the senior men’s program – Premier and 1 st Div
• Attend all home and away fixtures in both the Premier and 1 st Div competitions
• Oversee the management and development of assistant coaches
• Analyzing and assessing team and player performance
• Delivering player feedback and analysis through online platforms, team and face to face meetings
• Recruit new players locally, nationally and internationally to complement and strengthen the men's program

Other duties and responsibilities:
• Oversight of match day squad selections in conjunction with assistant coaches. Determine the methods of selection and the standards required and provide constructive feedback to those not selected
• Equipment stock management
• Understanding of and adherence to the competition rules and regulations
• Lead coaches’ and senior player group meetings and reviews
• To represent the Club at any Provincial meetings or events
• Work with the Team Manager to ensure all appropriate competition paperwork is completed in line with regulations
• To manage any player disciplinary issues liaising with the executive as required
• To appoint assistant coaches in conjunction with the executive ensuring they meet the identified needs of the club and players
• Report to executive upon request

Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of NCCP Level 2 coach (aspiring to complete Level 3)
• Completed Rugby Ready, Keep Rugby Clean and World Rugby Concussion Module within last 24 months
• Have held a Head Coach role previously or be able to demonstrate the required abilities to take on the role
• Coaching experience specific to 15s rugby or high-level playing experience (if new to coaching)
• Complete a Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Verification
