BC and Canada Highlight Clips from 1989, 1997, 1999, 2003 - With Rosters

We thought we would share these clips as we're not sure if they exist currently on the internet. The BC Rugby Hall of Fame dinner is this Saturday and Bobby Ross and Mike James had to go hunting for highlight clips. Bobby fortunately had some VHS tapes in storage and was generous enough to share some clips collected off the screen. Mike unfortunately has tapes in European PAL format and it was difficult back in the day to find a north american machine to play PAL format, almost impossible now. But we have a few clips of Mike that are already on YouTube, and they're shared below as well.

Readers can add their memories and thoughts on the matches in the comment section below. Congrats to both Bobby and Mike for induction into the 2020 BC Rugby Hall of Fame.

BC vs Australia - October 12 1989

BC tied the game up at 15-15 with this extraordinary try. BC turned the ball over on their goal line and Tom Woods picked it up, ran across the field and threw a desperation football style pass to winger Steve Gray. Gray picked it up beat a couple of defenders and the counter-attack was on. From the last ruck it went from John Graf, Bobby Ross, Ian Stuart and finally back to Tom Woods who beat David Campese for the try. Unfortunately it was all Australia after that and they won 43-15. The match was played at Royal Athletic Park in Victoria and attendance was recorded as over 4,000.
