UBC Win Round One of CanWest 7s: Calgary 2nd and UVic 3rd

The first round of the women's CanWest series is on this weekend in Edmonton. The series includes UVic, UBC, TWU, Alberta, Brandon, Lethbridge, Calgary, Regina. The schedule/results and link to CanWest TV is here.

Calgary upset UVic in Pool A which will set up a UBC v UVic semi-final tomorrow. The other semi will see Calgary vs Alberta.

Day 2

At the time of writing Calgary defeated Alberta in one semi and UBC downed UVic in the other, setting up a UBC v Calgary final.

UBC defeated Calgary 28-7 in the final and UVic defeated Alberta 28-5 to claim 3rd place. The series resumes Feb 11th and 12 at UVic, then finishes off March 3rd and 4th at UBC.
