Tide U15 Tryouts for Victoria International Youth 7s Tournament
from Mua Va'a
posted July 3 2013
Greetings players and parents
The international Sevens is around the corner on July 12 and 13 and I understand that there is still a lot of rugby going on at this time for all our young lads. Just a heads up the Tide U15 (1998) sevens will be hosting a tryout on July 9, 10, 11, 12th @ UVIC (Wallace field) from 5:30 to 7pm. With the 15s still going on that doesn’t give us much time to get ready except for those four days before the tournament, this is open to anybody to come out but there will be specific areas that we will be looking at to select 12 players such as:
The first two days we will be doing some skill drills and exhibition games. We will select the team after Wednesday session and inform everybody on Wednesday night. Also we are required to pay a $200 fee for the tournament so each player that will be selected will pay $25 each to cover the costs.
At the moment we are still need a manager for our team; if any of you parents are interested in helping please let me know. Thanks,

U18 Tide Fall 37-21 to Down High School of Ireland
posted July 8 2011
The final score was 37-21 to the Northern Irish team. The game was played as three 20s to allow the Tide coaches an opportunity to match the PRC format of two 20 minutes. The Tide coaches were experimenting with some different combinations prior to the PRC's. When the Tide played their game and pattern with their stronger line up there was not much between the two teams
Next touring team game is on Tuesday at 6 at SMUS versus St Edwards School from Oxford.
Man of the match for the Tide was Hayden Evans at #8, the 16 yr old 1st XV from Shawnigan Lake School, who also made the Canada U17 team this year, is shown below scoring one of the Tide tries.
