BC Premier Regional Week 6 Results: UBC Edge Pride; TWU Fall to UVic; Westshore Overcome CW

This wraps up the BC Premier Regional season, the BC Premier kicks off next weekend. We believe the Pacific Pride won the Coastal Cup even though they lost the match today to UBC, both teams have 21 points but the Pride have the better point differential both in the league and head to head. We’ll check with the team coaches and verify that later.

BC Premier Regional Week 5 Results: Pride Edge Vikes in Friday Night Match; UBC Overpower TWU, Bays Defeat Westshore, Burnaby Top Lomas, Rowers Upset Ravens, Caps Clobber Seattle

Week 5 of the BC Premier Regional competition is in the books. On the Island, the Bays claimed the Barnard Cup. Westshore and CW will battle next week to determine the runner up. In the Coastal Cup it’s all to play for between the Pride and UBC next weekend. The Pride are at 4-1 (20 pts) and UBC are 3-2 (16 pts). On the Mainland, teams take next week off in preparation for BC Premier Week 1 on October 29th.

BC Premier Regional Week 4 Results: Pride Trounce TWU; UBC Upset UVic, Bays Pound CW; Caps Top Burnaby; Ravens Fly Past Lomas; Rowers Paddle Seattle

Week 4 has wrapped up. In the Barnard Cup, the Bays can be announced as winners even though there’s two weeks left in the competition, their 3-0 record with 14 points is beyond the reach of CW and Westshore. Congrats to them. In the Coastal Cup it’s still a battle with the Pride at 3-1 leading, UVic and UBC at 2-2 and TWU at 1-3. On the mainland the Ravens (4-0) continue as the only undefeated side. A reminder there’s no Premier action next weekend, Thanksgiving weekend. Action resumes October 15th.

LANGLEY, B.C. – It was a massive 37-26 victory over Pacific Pride for Trinity Western at the Willoughby Community Park on Saturday. Tamilore Awonusi (Dublin, Ireland) led the Spartans with two tries while Matthew Willemse (Pietermaritzburg, South Africa) converted on all four TWU tries to go with three penalties for a team-high 17 points.

It’s the first week of the BC Rugby season so a lot of unknowns in rosters and team strengths. The Coastal Cup seems to be the most serious competition, the teams are fired up, rosters out early, and coaches are well organized. UBC, Pride, UVic and TWU are competing for this cup.

Coastal Cup Updates – December 2021

Coastal Cup Selects to Face Seattle Seawolves on January 28th in Washington

A team of Coastal Cup Selects, labeled as Rugby Canada West Selects, will take on the Seattle Seawolves on January 28th. The Seawolves will take on the UBCOB Ravens the weekend before. The games likely won’t be live streamed as Seattle have already stated there will be “Play-by-play tweet and score updates”, interpreted that means no live stream.
