Canada v USA – August 2025

Canada Defeat USA 42-10 on Strong 2nd Half Performance: Full Match Video

After the first 10 minutes with USA leading 7-0 there may have been some thoughts that Canada had pushed the World Cup build up a little too much with the tour to South Africa. They looked flat and fatigued. USA were winning the contact battle, they were breaking the gainline on their carries, it wasn’t looking promising. Canada vs South Africa Match #2 – July 2025

Canada Defeat South Africa 33-5 in 2nd Test

It wasn’t perfect but Canada’s defence limited South Africa to one second half try which is a victory in itself, after conceding 20 points last match. There are definitely some work-ons, two 1st half yellow cards had Canada playing with 13 players at one point. A couple of 1st half penalty advantages didn’t see the kicks go into touch, a few too many line breaks allowed but the cover defence was strong. Also two players lost, the injury to Rori Wood looking serious and Laetitia Royer holding her shoulder going off.

Canada Defeat South Africa 50-20 in Match #1

Canada won their first match in South Africa taking a 26-3 half time lead and finishing off with two late tries to win 50-20. The Canada backline looked dangerous during periods of the match finding space out wide but the Canadian forwards weren’t as dominant in this match compared to recent performances. The scrum was under pressure for most of the match. Canada were in control from the opening whistle but won’t be happy with the 3 second half tries they conceded considering they were playing a team ranked 10 places below them.
