I’m not sure if you have already heard, but I want to pass on some distressing news about former UBC Thunderbird and National Sevens Team member, Nick Allen.

Nick has been seriously hurt in a traffic accident while on vacation in Bali, Indonesia. He was knocked unconscious and sustained severe injuries to his head and extremities. He suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury and has had emergency surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. His Doctors in Bali have reported that the surgery went well and his condition in stable. Nick is currently being woken from a medically induced coma. This is a slow process, but he is showing small but important improvements.

A group of Nick’s friends and teammates are rallying to support Nick’s recovery, and have set-up a Go Fund Me page to assist in the substantial medical costs. Rugby Canada and UBC Rugby will be promote the fundraising efforts

Here is the link for the Fundraising page which went live this morning

it would be very much appreciated if you can post the information about Nick and the Fundraising efforts on BC Rugby News.
