*Westshore School 7s: 50 Teams, 600 Athletes, 4 Fields, 80 Games Kicks Off Friday at 10am*

It’s a sure sign of spring on the west coast as the Westshore School 7s kicks off tomorrow. Teams from up and down the Island will be in attendance with Abby on the mainland sending teams as well.

The Thunder Indigenous Rugby program are entering a senior boys team and the MacDowell Academy out of Cowichan are entered in the senior boys and girls divisions.

It’s an early look at which programs will be vying for Provincial honours this season and also a chance to support some schools who are starting or restarting their rugby programs.

A big part of the tournament organization is done by John Lyall who deserves kudos for his promotion of rugby in the province. Also a shout out to the Pacific Pride players who will be reffing and coaching at the tournament.
