A Look at the BC Club U16 & U18 Competitions with 3 Weeks Left in Regular Season

The BC club youth regular season goes to November 16th, the quarter-finals are November 23, semi-finals on the 30th and then the Island v Mainland finals will take place on December 7th at the Langley Events Centre.

Some of last year’s winners look well placed for a return to the championship. In boys U18 last year it was CW over Ravens for the title and this year both teams look on track for a repeat matchup, Abbotsford on the mainland will be the Ravens biggest threat and on the Island both Salish and Cowichan are chasing CW. At the boys U16 level last year it was Abbotsford taking down CW for the title but this year it looks like James Bay are the leading Island team and Capilano and Ravens are leading on the mainland.

In the girls U18 final last year CV Rapids (Comox) won over Abbotsford and both teams are well placed to return to the final. On the Island Cowichan are giving Comox a run for top spot. Comox claimed the double last year also defeating Abbotsford in U16 girls, this year James Bay threatens to take top Island spot at U16 with Comox currently in 2nd place. On the mainland Kamloops are giving Abbotsford a run for top spot in girls U16 with both teams undefeated.

U18 Boys Island

CW seem the class of the field early on having defeated both Cowichan and Salish (Shawnigan) who look to be battling it out for 2nd and 3rd.

U18 Boys Mainland

The Ravens and Abbotsford are the 2 undefeated teams so far at 4-0.

U18 Girls Island

Cowichan and Comox are the undefeated sides and look to be front runners to rep the Island.

U18 Girls Mainland

Abbotsford are clear leaders with a 4-0 record.

U16 Boys Island

James Bay are the only undefeated team with Cowichan and Salish in close pursuit.

U16 Boys Mainland

Ravens and Capilano are the undefeated teams at 3-0.

U16 Girls Island

James Bay are the only undefeated team with Comox in 2nd.

U16 Girls Mainland

Kamloops and Abbotsford are the undefeated sides and look well ahead of the rest.
