I was saddened to hear today of the passing of Brent Johnston. He was a stalwart at the Castaway Wanderers club and anyone who was involved in the BC Rugby community would have likely met Brent. He was also manager of the men’s national XVs for a period of time. His brother, Gary “Jono” Johnston, was national team coach in the 80s.

Just last weekend Brent was messaging in the CW results and rosters. If you want to read more about his life and contributions to rugby, visit the CW rugby website at the following links.

  1. In my short time playing for CW (late 90’s), Brent always made me feel welcome at the club and seemed to have a nack for making a comment to provide a little pep in my step. My condolences and Rest in peace, Brent a good chap.
