CanWest 7s Wraps Up This Weekend: Can UBC Be Defeated?
It’s 7s weekend in Vancouver, not only is the international Vancouver 7s taking place at BC Place on Saturday and Sunday, the Vancouver 7s Invitational at UBC on Thursday and Friday, but the CanWest 7s takes place Friday and Saturday at UBC. UBC have all but won the series going undefeated in the first two tournaments and having a four point lead in the series with two 1st place finishes, UVic are second with two 2nd place finishes. UVic’s only two losses were to UBC and the only question that remains is can UVic defeat UBC in their last match up on Sunday to claim a moral victory?
The schedule and results can be viewed on the CanWest 7s site. At the time of writing both UBC and UVic won their 1st matches and will face off against each other on Saturday at 1:04pm. All Day 1 action can be viewed on the CanWest.tv website, with commentary from Dean Murten.
