Meehan Names Canada Roster for Georgia Match on Saturday
It’s a decent team Canada are putting out against Georgia but missing some key forwards, not in the roster are Mason Flesch, Matt Oworu, Evan Olmstead, Cole Keith, Andrew Quattrin. Georgia are ranked 13th compared to Canada’s ranking of 22nd. Canada will be underdogs in the match, they lost 38-17 last November. The last time Canada defeated Georgia was 2015, 16-15, as part of the World Cup warm up matches. The match kicks of 18:00 local time or 7am on the west coast on TSN4 with a replay on TSN2 at 2pm PT.

Canada’s Men’s Rugby Team will face 13th-ranked Georgia this Saturday at Avchala Stadium in their first of three November World Rugby Nations Cup fixtures to close out the 2026 campaign.
Canadian rugby fans can watch the match live on TSN4, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 PT / 9:00 ET (18:00 local time). A replay will be available on TSN2 at 16:00 ET.
“Georgia are a physical, confrontational team with an aggressive defensive line speed, a strong set-piece and an athletic backline, said Head Coach Stephen Meehan. It will be important for us to be smart in how we respond to those challenges and how we look to dictate the tempo of the game. We want to play with intent, strike when opportunities present themselves and move Georgia around the pitch.
We’re continuing to develop a style of rugby that suits our strengths while constantly looking for ways to improve. We believe it’s an exciting way to play the game, and one that the players are fully invested in.”
Canada currently sits sixth in Pool A after opening their campaign in July with three matches, drawing 42-42 against Spain, falling 38-14 to Portugal, before ending with a 23-19 victory over Zimbabwe. Georgia currently leads Pool B after winning all three of their summer tests.
The match will mark the return of several players to the Canadian match-day squad. Matt Beukeboom (SAXV Angoulême) is set to make his first appearance for Canada in nine years, having made his international debut in February 2017. Tyler Ardron (Provence Rugby) also returns for the first time since Canada’s opening Nations Cup fixture against Spain in July.
Nic Benn (Hawkes Bay Magpies) is another welcome addition, last suiting up for Canada in November 2025.
Just days away from his 19th birthday, Jack Gore could earn his first cap for Canada being named to the bench in the No.22 jersey.
Captain Lucas Rumball will start in the No.7 jersey with Vice-Captain Ben LeSage at No.12.
