World Rugby Releases Match Official Assignments for Autumn Internationals: Canada Not Listed in Matches – Moe Chaudhry Listed as AR in Two Internationals
Canadian rugby fans have been waiting to find out who the men’s XVs team will be playing this fall in the traditional Autumn Internationals. We already know a Canada ‘A’ team will be travelling to Brazil to play a Chile XV and a Brazil XV in Brazil on the 21st and 26th of October. We found that out through the Brazil Rugby Union. There were rumours of a match vs Netherlands in November and perhaps Namibia who are also in Europe but those matches haven’t shown up on the match official assignments from World Rugby, meaning they’re not happening, they’re not full tests, or they’re not fully resolved yet. Take your pick.
What we do know from the match official assignments for Tier 2 countries is as follows. Chile have two games in November against Romania and Tonga, Uruguay have three games in November against Georgia, Romania and Tonga. Spain have two matches against Tonga and Namibia. Of course USA, Portugal, Kenya and Hong Kong will be battling in the repechage in November and that’s another match officials list.
As for match officials, there is one Canadian in the mix in the November tests and that Talal (Moe) Chaudhry who is an AR in the Georgia v Uruguay match and the Georgia v Samoa match. As for the repechage there is no Canadian representation.
