BC Premier Week 3 Predictions and Rosters: Ravens @ UBC, UVic @ Burnaby, CW @ James Bay, Bayside @ Capilano, Meraloma @ Rowers
It’s Week 3 and a number of national team players have returned to the rosters after the win over USA in the Pacific Nations Cup. Back from national team duty are Lucas Rumball, Takoda McMullin, Stephen Webb, Cody Nhanala, Liam James, Callum Botchar, Josh McIndoe, Austin Creighton. It’s UBC vs Ravens in a top match, a replay of the 2025 final, check for the live stream on game day. Can Capilano maintain their perfect record with a third BP win. The Bays with a strong roster host crosstown rivals CW. Burnaby host UVic and Rowers and Lomas look for their first win.

UBC are in 2nd place currently with a 2-0 record and 9 points. The Ravens are 1-0 with a big win over Meraloma in Week 2.
The top match of the weekend, a rematch of the 2025 final. UBC have three national team players back Cody Nhanala, Stephen Webb and Liam James. It’s their ‘A’ roster.
Not to be outdone, the Ravens have Lucas Rumball and Takoda McMullin returning from the national team. Rumball’s return moves Brian Ndirangu from openside flanker to second row. Jamin Hodgkins starts at #10 moving Andrew Coe to fullback. Takoda McMullin starts at outside centre.
This should be a great game and since it’s hosted by UBC it should be live streamed, we’ll add that link when it’s available. The Ravens are looking for a four-peat championship, UBC will be one of the few teams who could stop them. Going with the Ravens on this one, should be interesting. Prediction: Ravens by +3.

Burnaby with two close losses are sitting at 0-2 with 2 BP. UVic are 0-1, losing to UBC.
Burnaby pushed UBC last week, it was only the last quarter fitness that was the difference for the students. Burnaby are up against another university side this week, both lost to UBC by 10 points. It’s a similar roster to last week but with the addition of Ethan Turner in the centres, that’s a boost for them. The Fijians made a big difference last week, they’re usually good for a try or two in the match.
The Vikes have Josh McIndoe back but are missing Cooper Coats. They move the loose forwards around with #8 Ronin Smith missing this week, Aidan de Wit comes off the bench to start at openside flanker. Jack Driscoll starts at #10 with Michael Oughtred moving to fullback. Brendan Kim is in the reserves with Kale Jones getting the start at tighthead prop.
This is a tough one to pick, Burnaby at home, can they weather the last 20 against a fit UVic side. UVic with Cooper Coats is a different team, he’s not in the roster this week. I’ll give a slight edge to the home team. Prediction: Burnaby by +2.

The Bays are 1-0 with a win over Bayside in Week 1. CW are also 1-0 with a win over Rowers in Week 1.
The Bays are putting together a strong roster that could challenge this year, definitely playoff bound. Looking through their national level players this week, Tyler Matchem, Kainoa Lloyd, Josh Thiel, Austin Creighton, D’Shawn Bowen, Callum Botchar. A new #10 Alistair Ledingham, he doesn’t show in our records but a wider search reveals a player capped for Germany of that name. The bench looks strong with Beck, Botchar, Bowen, Creighton ready to make an impact. It’s Mike Nieuwenhuysen’s 100th cap for the Bays, congrats to him.
CW haven’t published their roster on social media yet but the PlayHQ system has a partial roster. It looks to be a similar roster to Week 1. Angus Boyd-Porter and Sam Blundell are added to the bench. We’ll check back when their full roster is published.
The Bays look the real deal this year, the problem may be keeping their national level players for the season. This roster looks strong. Prediction: Bays by +7.

The Rowers have a partial roster on PlayHQ but no posted roster yet on social media. There’s some rotation in the backline and one sub from the bench in the front row. The only new player in the starting XV seems to be openside flanker Chase Cooke from Week 1.
The first home game at Brockton Oval for the Rowers in Premier in many years. The Lomas did score 40 points against a good Capilano side in Week 1, the Rowers lost to the other promoted team Bayside last week. We’ll go with the Lomas since CW defeated the Rowers in Week 1 and the Lomas finished ahead of CW last season. Prediction: Lomas by +5.
