BC Entering Youth Teams in World School 7s in Auckland in December

from BCRU

BC Bears Boys and Girls Elite 7s teams will be heading to New Zealand this December, to compete at the 2022 World School Sevens.

The World School Sevens, taking place at Auckland’s Pakuranga Rugby Club on December 17-18, is an international Rugby 7s tournament for U18 Boys and Girls teams, attracting sides from all around the world.

It is a great opportunity for U18 athletes to represent BC and test themselves at a higher level.

BC Bears Elite 7s Coaches Adam Roberts (Boys) and Darcy Patterson (Girls) are continuing preparations ahead of New Zealand. Coaches will be using the Age-Grade Club Rugby 7s season, culminating with the Kamloops 7s on October 8-9, and XVs Fall season, ending with BC Rugby Age-Grade Club Finals on December 4, to finalize their squads.

“The program is looking to resurrect its strong tradition and build for the future. We will be building back our regional 7’s competitive structure in the early part of 2023. We are very excited for the opportunity to test ourselves against the best in the World at the New Zealand Schools Tournament.” BC Bears U18 Boys 7s Coach Adam Roberts

“This is an exciting time for the BC Bears Elite Youth 7s program and we are very much looking forward to going back to this tournament to grow and compete at a new level.” BC Bears U18 Girls 7s Coach Darcy Patterson
