BC U18 Girls 7s Return from Australian Tournament with 2-2 Record: Photos
The Australian School Girls won their home tournament with a 27-12 win over the NZ based Rugby Vault team. The BC U18 team lost to the Australian School Girls in the quarter-finals on Day 2, 29-0. The girls division didn’t have a Plate category unlike the boys division, even though there were more girls teams entered.
On Day 1 BC lost to Renegades 27-19 and then won their next 2 games, 31-10 over the Australian Cavaliers and 61-0 over Nauru.

BC Bears U18 Girls 7s Squad Named for Global Youth Sevens
BC Rugby is delighted to announce the BC Bears U18 Girls 7s squad travelling to compete at the inaugural Global Youth Sevens Gold Coast 2023 tournament in Australia this December.
Formerly known as the World School Sevens, the Global Youth Sevens is an international 7s Rugby tournament for U18 Girls and Boys teams that originated in Auckland, New Zealand in 2016. This year, elite level youth 7s Rugby heads to Australia’s Gold Coast for the very first time on December 9-10, 2023, before returning to Auckland on December 15-17.
The BC Bears U18 Girls 7s team will compete at the inaugural Gold Coast event just outside of Brisbane, giving BC’s best youth 7s athletes an exciting opportunity to showcase their talents and compete at a high-level event on the global stage.
Attracting teams from all over the world, the Global Youth Sevens is a truly international, cultural festival of 7s Rugby. Participants not only get to experience a high level of competition on the field, but also soak in a week of amazing culture and hospitality off it.

The team will be coached by Darcy Patterson, while the squad will also be joined by athletic therapist Randy Hunter.
The selection process for the BC Bears U18 Elite Girls 7s team was very competitive and took into account key events throughout the BC Rugby season, including the 2023 Provincial Regional Championships (PRCs), 2023 Western Canadian Championships and the 2023 Kamloops 7s.

Global Youth Sevens (formerly the World School Sevens) is an international U18 Sevens Rugby tournament that has been in existence since 2016. It has featured over 100 teams over the last six years including teams from USA, Canada, Japan, Fiji, Australia, Samoa, Nauru and New Zealand. The tournament features national representative teams and composite teams including New Zealand Tongans, New Zealand Samoans and NZ Niue.
