44th Can-Am 7s July 8th: Open for Registration
from Paul Horne
Hoping you can help us get the Can back in the Can-Am Sevens. Would love to see the BC teams return to compete for the Can Am Cup. The tourney is the oldest running 7’s event in the Pacific Northwest going back to 1978 and the history shows clubs like UBCOB Ravens, Meralomas and Bayside dominated the competition over the last three decades.
The tournament will again be played at the deWilde Rugby and Polo Field located ten minutes across the Blaine border crossing. The host club, Chuckanut Bay RFC is celebrating 50 years in existence and would like to send a special invitation to all BC clubs to join in the celebration Saturday July 8.
Those who have been to the event in the past will not recognize the facility. The club inherited the 17 1/2 acres and have developed the property into the finest grass, full size rugby fields to be found anywhere. Over $2 million dollars in labor and in kind has been spent to date. Check out the link www.dewilderugbyfields.com
Men’s Elite, Men’s Social and Women’s Division along with the legendary In Goal Beer Garden make this an event you will not want to miss!
