Coach Development Camp 2025

Elevate Your Game: Gainline Sports Coaching Brings World-Class Rugby Development to BC with Russell Earnshaw in Summer 2025!

Elevate your rugby coaching expertise with Gainline Sports Coaching’s world-class Coach Development Camp in British Columbia during Summer 2025. This highly anticipated program features lead coach Russell Earnshaw, a distinguished figure in rugby development.

Co-founded by Aaron Takel and Scott Manning, Gainline Sports Coaching was established to revolutionize coach learning. Building on the success of their inaugural 2024 program, the Summer 2025 camp promises an unparalleled learning opportunity.

A Distinctive Approach to Coach Development

Gainline Sports Coaching emphasizes practical, hands-on experience over purely theoretical instruction. This program uniquely addresses a common challenge in coach education by providing substantial time for active coaching. Participants will engage with players from the St. Michaels University School (SMUS) Summer Rugby Camp, creating an “experiential classroom” for immediate application of concepts and real-time feedback.

As Luke Robson, a past attendee, observed, “Where other courses seem insistent on sitting down watching endless power points – instead this weeklong course got us out on the grass with hands on learning every day.”

Featuring Lead Coach Russell Earnshaw

Russell Earnshaw’s involvement ensures a world-class experience. A former professional player for Bath Rugby and England Sevens, his coaching career is equally impressive. He served as assistant coach for England Sevens, leading them to numerous victories, and has coached at various elite levels, including the GB Students and England U18 Women’s team. Earnshaw holds the prestigious Level 4 RFU coach qualification and is a highly respected Coach Developer and Educator.

Beyond rugby, Earnshaw’s influence extends across diverse sports and the business sector, with collaborations including New Zealand Sevens, Google, and the Premier League. This broad experience means the camp offers not only rugby-specific strategies but also fundamental insights into leadership, team dynamics, and human performance applicable across various fields.

Testimonials from Previous Attendees

The program consistently receives high praise for its immersive environment and transformative impact:

“The week with Gainline was the best coach development experience I have ever been involved in. The Gainline week evolved my technical/tactical way of coaching to a more well-rounded, player-based approach. I now feel that I truly develop better rugby players. The whole week was fun, engaging and left me excited to coach at both senior men’s and high school level.” — Stephen List (Whistler Secondary and Squamish Axemen)

“As a former high level rugby player making the transition into coaching, the Gainline program gave me confidence and tools that I could implement immediately into my coaching. I could not recommend the program enough as the structure gave me the ability to learn in a safe place, ask questions, but most importantly my coaching skills and knowledge were put under pressure right away.” — James O’Neil (Calgary Dinos)

“The Gainline Coaching Course was easily the best rugby coaching experience I’ve had… I came away with a new philosophy on coaching, centred around player learning in game like contexts and creating training environments that both challenge and engage the players.” — Luke Robson (Vancouver Rowing Club)

“Attending the week-long Gainline Sport Coaching clinic at St. Michaels University was an exceptional experience that surpassed all expectations. The combination of world-class coaching and collaborative learning created a transformative environment for everyone involved.” — Taylor Howes (Earl Marriott and Bayside)
