MLR Week 4 Results: Austin Still Looking the Team to Beat – Wins for Toronto, New York, Austin, San Diego, LA: MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Austin still look the team to beat and this week they face a stern challenge as they travel to Seattle to play another undefeated side, the Seattle Seawolves. The result may give a hint as to who has edge in the race for the title this year.

February 26

Old Glory DC 5 v Toronto Arrows 29 @ Segra Field 1pm PT

Old Glory sit at the bottom of the East conference at 0-3. Canadians in the roster include Luke Campbell who gets the start at blindside and Doug Fraser starting on the wing. Jake Ilnicki is a reserve prop.

Toronto sit in 4th place in the East conference at 1-2. They have a similar lineup to last week, Keith and Quattrin in the front row, Sheppard and Ciulini second row and Bailie and Rumball in the backrow. Braude starts again at scrum half, Webster on the wing and Jones in the centre. Nine Canadians in the starting XV. Marc Ouelett gets a spot on the bench as reserve prop, McRogers as reserve hooker. Wadden, O’Neill, Richardson on the bench as well. Five Canadians on the bench.

Dallas Jackals 5 v Rugby New York 41 @ Choctaw Stadium 5pm PT

Dallas are in last place in the West at 0-3. Liam Murray gets the start at loosehead prop, Mo Abdelmonem starts at openside flanker.

New York are in 3rd place in the East at 2-0. Quinn Ngawati gets his first start of the season in the centres, Andrew Coe starts on the wing.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Seattle Seawolves 18 v Austin Gilgronis 25 @ Starfire Stadium 5pm PT

Seattle are in 2nd place in the West. Both teams are 3-0 with Austin having extra bonus points. Nakai Penny starts at openside for Seattle and Reid Watkins covers scrum half from the reserves bench.

Austin are in 1st place in the West. Roster TBA. Cole Davis is the only Canadian in their extended roster but hasn’t made the match day 23 yet.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

Houston SaberCats 20 v San Diego Legion 31 @ Aveva Stadium 6pm PT

Houston are in 4th place in the West. Rob Povey is in the reserves.

San Diego are in 3rd place in the West. Mike Smith gets the start at openside flanker. Josh Thiel, back from injury, is on the reserves bench along with Kainoa Lloyd.

LA Giltinis 19 v New England Free Jacks 15 @ Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum 3pm PT

LA are in 5th place in the West at 1-1. Djustice Sears-Duru starts at loosehead and Ben LeSage starts at outside centre. Corey Thomas is the starting #8.

New England are 2nd place in the East at 2-0. Foster Dewitt gets the start again at loosehead prop, Josh Larsen starts in the second row. Reegan O’Gorman is on the bench as second row cover.
