MLR 2025 – Round 4

MLR Round 4 with 24 Canadians in Action: San Diego Only Undefeated Team Tops West Conference and Chicago Tops East Conference

There were 24 Canadians in action this weekend in MLR, 13 starting and 11 in the reserves. San Diego remains the only undefeated team and tops the West Conference, Chicago tops the East Conference.

Chicago 31 – Miami 18

Miami had Guiseppe du Toit starting at inside centre. Chicago had Lucas Rumball at #8, Mason Flesch at #6 with Matt Oworu and Jason Higgins on the bench. Mason Flesch scored a try just before half, Lucas Rumball picked up a yellow at 53′, Jason Higgins came on at 55′, and Matt Oworu got on the field at 68′ replacing the openside flanker.

Old Glory 26 – Anthem 22

Old Glory had Cali Martinez at tighthead prop and Logan Weidner on the bench. Anthem didn’t have any Canadian players, Neil Trainor hasn’t appeared in their roster to date. Cali Martinez came off at 20′ and was back on at 30′ and then replaced at 44′. Logan Weidner came on at 61′ replacing the #8, Martinez returned briefly from 65′ to 67′ according to MLR stats. Logan Weidner scored the game winning try on his debut at 68′.

Houston 37 – Utah 17

Utah had Spencer Jones at inside centre and Nic Benn on the wing. On the bench were Emerson Prior and Reid Davis. Houston has no Canadian players. Nic Benn scored a try at 51′. Reid Davis and Emerson Prior both came on at 55′, Davis replacing a second row, Prior replacing the loosehead prop.

San Diego 36 – LA 28

LA had Andrew Coe on the wing, Reegan O’Gorman at second row and Matt Heaton at openside flanker. San Diego had no Canadian players in the roster. Reegan O’Gorman was subbed off at 16′, it looked like an injury sub. Chris Assmus was the match referee.

Seattle 27 – New England 24

Seattle had Dewald Kotze and Brock Gallagher on the bench. New England had Andrew Quattrin at hooker, Piers von Dadelszen and Conor Keys in the second row, Brock Webster on the wing. On the NE bench were Foster Dewitt, Cole Keith, Kyle Baillie, Cameron Nordli-Kelemeti. Brock Webster was replaced at 45′, Kyle Baillie replaced Piers von Dadelszen at 49′, Foster Dewitt came on at 60′, Dewald Kotze came on at 60′, Cole Keith came on for Andrew Quattrin at 70′, Cameron Nordli-Kelemeti came on at 74′, Brock Gallagher came on at 80′. Conor Keys made a match high 14 tackles.
