MLR Draft – 2021

Three BC University Players Picked in Top Two Rounds: Logan Martin-Feek, James O’Neill, Bryce Worden

The MLR Draft for the 2022 season took place today. There were 3 rounds with university players from USA and Canada eligible.

There were 5 Canadian university players picked overall, with 2 from UVic and 1 from UBC going in the first 2 rounds.

Logan Martin-Feek was the only Canadian player picked in the 1st round, he was selected by the Toronto Arrows. Logan plays at UVic and before that at Westshore RFC. He’s a #10 and will likely feature for UVic this fall in the new BC competition that will include universities (UVic, UBC, TWU), regions (Vancouver Island, Vancouver, Vancouver East) and the National Rugby Academy (Pacific Pride).

Picked up in the 2nd round were UBC’s Bryce Worden, formerly from the the Burnaby Club, and James O’Neill from UVic. O’Neill certainly was on many people’s radar as someone who should be playing in the MLR, he’ll go to the 2021 championship team, the LA Giltinis. Worden will go to the Toronto Arrows.
