New England and Houston Advance to MLR Final: 15 Canadians in Semi-Finals
The 2025 MLR season comes to a close next weekend when New England and Houston compete for the title at Centreville Bank Stadium in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. It’s a 10,500+ stadium that is home of the Rhode Island FC, of the USL. It will be a contest between a team with the most Canadians in the league, New England, against a team with no Canadians, Houston.
New England 21 – Chicago 20

New England had Andrew Quattrin at hooker, Piers von Dadelszen at second row, Ben Lesage at #13 and Brock Webster at #15. In the reserves were Foster Dewitt #16, Josh Larsen #19, Ethan Fryer #20. Chicago had Mason Flesch at #6, Lucas Rumball #8, Jason Higgins #9. In the reserves was Matt Oworu #20. Ben Lesage subbed off at 24′. Foster Dewitt replaced Andrew Quattrin at 40′. Matt Oworu subbed on at 54′. Jason Higgins subbed off at 55′. Mason Flesch subbed off at 59′. Josh Larsen subbed on at 69′. Ethan Fryer subbed on at 75′. Lucas Rumball topped the tackle stat with 25 tackles.
Houston 33 – Utah 19

Utah had Spencer Jones at inside centre and Nic Benn on the wing. In the reserves were Emerson Prior #17 and Reid Davis at #19. Houston don’t have any Canadian players. Nic Benn subbed off at 36′. Reid Davis subbed on at 64′. Emerson Prior subbed on at 64′.
