Photos from Canada 7s vs Pacific Pride at Starlight Stadium
The Canada 7s boys were tuning up for the Olympics with some matches vs the Pacific Pride National Academy. We posted 31 photos on our backup site nationalrugbynews.com
We’ve embedded a few of our favourites below. They played about the equivalent of 3 games, 6 halves, I believe. Although, when you’re viewing strictly through the lens of a camera you miss some of the big picture stuff. I thought Brock Webster looked good for Canada 7s and the usual big performers like Nathan Hirayama, Conor Trainor, Justin Douglas, Connor Braid were running well.
I didn’t keep track of the score but Canada outscored the Pride about 4 or 5 to 1 with the Pride scoring 3 tries. Kainoa Lloyd scored the first try for the Pride, Jack Carson scored another and apparently there was a third. Jack Carson showed up a lot in the photos and seems to have a high work rate and some talent.
The following sequence of 3 shows Brock Webster scoring for Canada with Jack Carson tenacious in tracking back on defence.
This one of Thomas Isherwood reminded us of Nick Cummings, the Honey Badger, from Australia. Thomas is a skilled player and should show up in future Canadian senior sides.
This is Jack Carson scoring one of the Pride tries.
