Update on the English Premier Women’s Rugby (PWR) Round 6 – 14 Canadians in Action
With the BC Leagues on winter break until January 24th, the largest concentration of Canadians playing rugby right now is in the women’s Premier league in England. In October we counted 23 Canadians in the league, we’ve found out two more are heading over from the 7s program, Asia Hogan-Rochester (Sale) and Pam Buisa (Bristol).
In Round 6 there were four matches (results posted below) with 14 Canadians in the rosters on 4 teams. Scoring tries were Olivia Apps with 2, and singles by Alysha Corrigan, Abby Duguid, Alex Tessier, Sabrina Poulin. Sophie de Goede did the live stream commentary on the Saracens v Loughborough match.
There are two more rounds (7 & 8) in December before their winter break, the league restarts on January 30th.
