Rugby 7s at 2021 Olympics

Schedule Announced for Men’s and Women’s Olympic 7s

[ed. note Tokyo is 16 hours ahead of BC, times below are for Tokyo. A 9am start on Monday will be 5pm PT on Sunday.]

The schedules have been announced for the Rugby 7s events.

The men kickoff on Monday, July 26th with Canada facing Great Britain, a must win for them if they hope to make the Quarter-finals. Next up will be Fiji in the evening (local time), their toughest match against the defending champions. The next day they take on Japan. A 2-1 record is required to ensure a QF spot, a 1-2 record may get through depending on point differential.

The women kickoff their tournament on Thursday, the 29th. Canada face Brazil first, then Fiji, two likely wins. They then meet France on Friday, likely to determine top place in the pool.

The tournament wraps up Saturday, so a full six days of rugby action with the men’s winner decided on Wednesday and the women’s winner on Saturday.
