Terrace Northmen Win Saratoga Cup; Rocky Mountain Rogues Win Women’s 7s Tournament
The Terrace Northmen defeated Elk Valley 14-5 in the Saratoga Cup final to win the 2026 title. In the women’s 7s tournament there was an upset as the undefeated Yeti Rugby Club fell to Rocky Mountain Rogues, 15-12, a team they had defeated 31-5 on Day 1. The Day 2 video is linked below.

Saratoga Cup Tournament This Weekend, August 8-9, in Fernie
The Saratoga Cup for interior regions, Okanagan, Kootenays, Central Interior, will take place this weekend in Fernie. The men’s tournament is XVs and the women’s tournament is 7s. In the men’s tournament it will be Vernon, Terrace, Rocky Mountain, and Elk Valley competing. The women’s tournament also have Elk Valley and Rocky Mountain with the addition of Trail, Yeti (Salmon Arms), Penticton and a new team called Valhalla Valkyries (Nelson). The BCRU are providing a live stream, likely the VEO Ai system, the link is below as well as the full schedule.

In the Men’s XVs Competition, hosts Elk Valley RFC will be joined by Kootenay Division winners and close rivals Rocky Mountain Rogues, who will be hoping to reassert their dominance in a competition they won three times from 2021-2023. Defending champions Vernon Jackals RFC, who defeated Yeti Rugby in the Okanagan Final, will be out to make it successive Championships and start their own dynasty. Terrace Northmen RFC completes the line-up as Central Interior Division winners and will be looking to add another Saratoga Cup victory to match their Men’s/Women’s double in 2024.

Hosts Elk Valley RFC will be joined by the Rocky Mountain Rogues, who will both be aiming to lift the trophy for the first time. Defending champions Yeti Rugby are aiming for a second successive Championship. Penticton Harlequins will be competing for the third successive year, with Trail RFC attending its second straight Saratoga Cup. The line-up is completed by newcomers, Valhalla Valkyries.
