Tom Davidson Announced as 7th Signing for Vancouver Highlanders
The Vancouver Highlanders have announced Tom Davidson as their 7th signing. Tom was a standout junior player, selected to the U19 national all star team in 2016. In 2017 Tom was a member of the Canada U20 team that defeated USA in a two game series in Edmonton and went on to represent North America at the JWRT. He went on to play for the Pacific Pride in 2019, 2021 and captained the side for part of the season in 2022. In 2023 he joined the Castaway Wanderers in the BC Premier.
Our current stories catch up with Tom as a member of the Pacific Pride in the 2021 Coastal Cup season. His second row partner was Callum Botchar in Week 1 as they took on Van East. Tom is listed as from Chelsea, Quebec and a member of the Toronto Scottish rugby club.
In the spring of 2022 the Pride were playing in the BC Premier and Tom was captaining the Pride team, his second row partners early in the season were Conor Turner and Alastair Bruce.
When the 2023 BC Premier season started Tom was playing second row with CW, and that brings us up to date with the BC Premier taking its winter break.
If we go into the archives we see Tom Davidson started with the Pacific Pride in the fall of 2019 playing second row.
In 2017 he was selected to the Canada U20 team, Canada defeated USA in the two game series in Edmonton and represented North America at the JWRT in Uruguay. The three locks on that team were Liam Doll, Matt Beukeboom and Tom Davidson.
In 2016 he was part of the Canada U20 team that played the touring North Otago side. On that U20 roster were players like Jake and Josh Thiel, Cole Keith, Dewald Kotze, Brock Gallagher, Will Kelly, Fraser Hurst. That U20 team was chosen from an All Star team selected at the U19 national championships, Tom was named to that All Star team representing Ontario. In January of 2016 Tom was on the Canada U18 long list for the tour to Ireland and he started at second row against Leinster in the April match.
