Three Canadian Teams Claim Titles at Tropical 7s: MacDowell Rugby, Oakville Crusaders, Rugby Quebec
Three Canadian teams claimed titles at the Tropical 7s in 2024. MacDowell Rugby won the senior women’s title, the Oakville Crusaders won the Boys U18 Elite title and Rugby Quebec won the U16 Girls Open title. Congratulations to the players and coaches. The Tropical 7s in Florida has become a popular destination for Canadian youth teams. We took a look at the Canadian teams entered this year. A quick count shows over 60 teams entered, several academy programs like MacDowell Rugby and Upright Rugby had multiple teams entered.
U18 Boys Elite
The Oakville Crusaders and Tsunami Canada Misfits have advanced to the Cup round. Congratulations to the Oakville Crusaders who won the U18 title, defeating a USA team Rebel Rugby Academy in the final 26-21. The Tsunami Canada Misfits finished 7th.
