Ontario Win Gold, BC Silver in Men’s and Women’s U19 Championship
It wasn’t to be the day for BC as they lost both final matches against Ontario on Sunday. The women came close, leading for most of the match but giving up two tries in the last 5 minutes to lose 17-7. The men were defeated 44-12 and trailed in the match from the beginning. Jack Gore the Ontario #10 and team captain scored 29 points. The BC U17 teams wrapped up their 3 game series on Saturday, Ontario won both matches. The bright spot for BC were the U17 women who, despite losing Saturday’s game, won the series against Ontario with 2 wins and 1 loss. The BC U17 men had a record of 1 win and 2 losses. Kudos to host Ontario who claim the title of top province this year in age-grade rugby. We haven’t heard where next year’s tournament will be held yet.

BC Men and Women Claim Wins Against Quebec: Final on Sunday vs Ontario
BC defeated Quebec in men’s and women’s games today, the men won 57-17 and the women won 63-5. Both BC and Ontario are undefeated setting up a winner take all match on Sunday for both men and women. The host Ontario didn’t live stream today’s games and there’s a bit of gamesmanship going on there. Originally they scheduled BC to play Quebec on Saturday, the day before the anticipated BC v Ontario match. BC said, hold on, we want a day of rest before the game like Ontario are getting, actually they get 2 days rest. Ontario said fine but we’re not changing the live stream schedule, BC said fine we’ll stream it ourselves… and they did but there’s not all the stats and stuff. The BC live streams are below.

BC Men Defeat Alberta 55-3; BC Women Win 51-0
Both the BC men and women were victorious in their second matches of the tournament. The men defeated Alberta 55-3 and the women defeated Alberta 51-0. The next games for BC are on Friday against Quebec and then they finish up on Sunday against Ontario. BC and Ontario are the two undefeated teams and likely the Sunday results will determine the championships.
The women really focused on discipline and only had 5 penalties called against them this match, compared to 18 penalties in their first match.

BC Men Win First Match 59-12 Over Atlantic
The BC men played their first match of the tournament, postponed from yesterday due to weather. They outscored Atlantic 9 tries to 2 and won 59-12. Unlike the BC women’s game yesterday that racked up a double digit penalty count and multiple cards, the men held their discipline in this match, the penalty count was more even. BC were penalized 9 times to Atlantic 6. Both the men and women take on Alberta tomorrow.

BC Women Defeat Atlantic 12-0 in First Match: Men’s Match Cancelled Due to Extreme Weather
The CRC U19 kicked off yesterday and hosts Ontario are looking ominous after Day 1. They defeated Alberta 73-0 in men’s play and 99-5 in the women’s game. BC only got one game in today, a 12-0 win over Atlantic in the women’s game, the men’s game was postponed until tomorrow due to severe weather conditions. Atlantic women had lost 19-12 to Quebec on Day 1.
The BC women will have to up their game to defend their gold this year. In their first game against Atlantic they had an astounding 18 penalties called against them and 4 yellow cards, discipline will have to be improved if they want to compete against Ontario and Quebec. #14 Tayla Kempf and #8 Poppy-Anne Elcock scored for BC.
The BC Men are tentatively set to play their make-up game against Atlantic at 10am (local time) on Wednesday. The BC Women play Alberta on Thursday in their next match.

Head Coaches should appoint their staff and take responsibility
for their programs success or failure.
Ontario is now the Top Age Grade Province in Canada.
That should not be acceptable for the BCRU.

Losing to any province in Canada is unacceptable !
CANADA should look to Ontario to supply our age grade coaches.
VICTORY has it’s rewards .
Seriously? Some of the best coaches in Canada gave up so much time to coach these kids. Maybe also a bit of credit to Ontario players and staff.
