Vancouver Highlanders Announce Five Matches for Summer 2024: Canada Selects, Barbados, Germany, Brazil XV, Canada XV
The Vancouver Highlanders hope to host about 10 matches this summer in the Vancouver area, and they’ve just confirmed the first 5.
Starting on June 28th, the Highlanders will put out their 1st XV and their Reserve XV for a double header against Canada Selects and Barbados. July 20th will see Germany visit, Germany play in the Rugby Europe competition and this last weekend defeated Belgium 21-11, in February they just lost to Georgia by 11 points, 28-17.
In August on the 3rd the Highlanders will host a Brazil XV and then on the 17th they’ll host a Canada XV. At this point we don’t know the exact strength of the teams coming until we see rosters but it’s a good start for the Vancouver side. Canada will host Japan at BC Place the following weekend on August 25th so the Canada XV side could be quite strong.
The next question is what venues will be used? We know their philosophy is to make these games an entertainment event so where will they be hosted and what else will be added? We look forward to finding out more.
