Final Results: South Island Tide Win U15 Girls and U16 Boys Titles; Fraser Valley Win U18 Girls, North Island Tsunami Win U18 Boys

The U15 girls division was the first to wrap up with the South Island Tide winning the title, Celtic Barbarians were second and the North Island Tsunami were third. The U16 boys result was next with the South Island Tide claiming the title, the Edmonton Gold claiming second and Fraser Valley earning third.

In the U18 girls division it was Fraser Valley winning the title with South Island Tide claiming second and Nova Scotia Keltics claiming third. In the final division to wrap up it was the North Island Tsunami claiming gold, Vancouver winning silver and South Island Tide winning bronze.

Day One Updates from Vancouver Sevens Invitational Tournament

Day One of the VSI has wrapped up, the link to the results and standings for each division are listed below.

In the U15 girls bracket there are two undefeated sides South Island Tide and North Island Tsunami. In the U18 girls division it’s Fraser Valley and Nova Scotia Keltics who are undefeated. In U16 boys it’s Fraser Valley and South Island Tide who top the table with 3-0 records and in U18 boys it’s South Island Tide as the only undefeated side.

Vancouver Sevens Invitational Youth Tournament Kicks Off Thursday – 30 Teams Entered

The VSI (Vancouver Sevens Invitational) kicks off Thursday at UBC. It includes Boys U16 and U18 and Girls U15 and U18. The list of teams in each division is posted below, the age category title links to the BCRU fixtures/results page for that age category.

The Aurora Wolves are a new team from the northern BC area and operate out of Prince George. They have teams entered in Girls U15, Girls U18 and Boys U16. Teams with entries in all four divisions include North Island Tsunami, South Island Tide, Fraser Valley. Vancouver have four teams entered in the Boys U16 and Boys U18, as does Fraser Valley. Fraser Valley have the most teams entered with six. There are teams from out of province, Celtic Barbarians and Edmonton Gold from Alberta, and Nova Scotia Keltics from the Maritimes. Washington is the lone out of country entry in Girls U18. BC has a rep team in the Girls U18 division, a U16 team playing up a level.
