BC Premier Finals Predictions & Rosters: Men’s Premier #1 Ravens vs #6 UVic; Women’s Premier #3 Thunderbirds vs #4 Westshore – Full Rosters All Divisions
It’s BC Club finals weekend with seven matches to determine titles in the BC Premier, Div 1, Div 2 and Div 3 divisions. We have the rosters and predictions for the men’s and women’s Premier matches and the rosters for the lower divisions. More information on the day long event is in our BC Club Finals article. Note the rosters listed in the BCRU program have a number of errors, it was published Thursday afternoon, before some clubs finalized their rosters.
Men’s Premier
UBCOB Ravens v University Of Victoria @ 16:30

The Ravens won the last matchup fairly easily 49-24 but UVic rested Cooper Coats and Morgan di Nardo in that match.
The Ravens have no changes in their roster from the semi-final win over JBAA. They have a formidable forward pack with Frank and Don Carson in the engine room, Reegan O’Gorman, David O’Donaghue and Joe Locke in the loose forwards. Lockie Kratz at #10 has been big signing for them and a back three of Andrew Coe, Jack Carson, and Cole Keffer. Former Canada 7s player Noah Bain in the reserves shows their depth.
The big news for UVic is Cooper Coats is out, he picked up an injury in the UBC match. That changes the complexion of the game completely. The #6 team made a meteoric rise through the playoffs knocking off the #2 and #3 teams in the semis and quarters. That was with Cooper Coats, the incumbent national team #10 leading the backline attack. With his absence, rookie Michael Oughtred gets the start at #10, David Richard gets moved to fullback, Josh McIndoe to wing and Lockhart MacGregor comes into the roster as starting outside centre.
Two talented backlines, the question is can the UVic forwards match up against the Ravens forwards for the full 80. Ravens are defending champions and #1 in the regular season, UVic have defeated two higher ranked opponents in the quarter-finals and semi-finals, but they are now missing a key player in the final? Prediction: Ravens by +8.

The Thunderbirds have won both regular season matches, the last one in April by +52 points. The Thunderbirds are four time repeat champions and defeated Westshore the last three years in the final.
Westshore have national team tighthead prop Sierra Gillis back in the starting roster and Canada 7s player Maya Addai back in the centres. The return of those two players will help the team.
The Thunderbirds roster is based on the one published in the BCRU program and that program has had some errors, we’ll update if necessary when the Thunderbirds publish their roster. The only significant change the BCRU program is showing is Ella Kirk at blindside flanker replacing Ruby Kaltiainen.
Westshore had national team players like Asia Hogan-Rochester and Breanne Nicholas suit up for them this season and they would need at least one of them today to break the Thunderbirds winning streak. It would be a big upset if Westshore could pull off the win. Prediction: Thunderbirds by +7.
