Alastair Marshall Announced as 17th Signing for Vancouver Highlanders
Alastair Marshall has been named as the 17th Vancouver Highlanders signing. Originally from Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan and the Regina Rogues rugby club he now plays for UBC in the BC Premier. That makes eight current and former UBC players on the Highlanders to date.
He was on the UBC team that won the 2023 Canadian University Championship, he was also selected on the All Star team for the tournament. That makes six Highlanders now that were on the 2023 University All Star list with UBC, Jacob Bossi, Payton Teneycke, James Biss, Talon McMullin, Takoda McMullin. If you add the 2022 University All Stars you can add Conor O’Flaherty to the list as well.
Marshall was starting wing for the Canada U20 teams in 2022 and 2023. He was also a member of the BC U19 team in 2022 that won the Canadian Championship.
The Highlanders in their announcement today, stated “match announcement coming soon”.
Highlander Reserves
The Highlanders have also been releasing their Reserve roster, so far they have three players listed, Simeon John from Westshore, Ben Beauchamp from UBC and Keegan Neary of James Bay.
