The Rugby Canada Maple Leaf Academy serves to facilitate the Development of future Olympians and National Team Athletes. Aspiring female athletes from across the country are recruited through various talent identification pathways, coming together to train full time in Rugby Canada’s high-performance environment at the Al Charron National Training Centre in Langford, BC.
The Rugby Network a collaborative effort between MLR and RugbyPass, the service owned by Sky Sport NZ, will provide live streaming of four MLR matches this weekend. The Toronto v Atlanta match will be blacked out in Canada since TSN will provide the live feed on TSN 2. Here is Saturday’s schedule with the Live Stream matches indicated.
World Rugby will start a global competition in 2023 for women’s XVs. The competition will be played in a September/October time frame.

World Rugby have announced their plans for the World Sevens Series for 2021. As we have seen before, plans in the COVID era are just that – plans, they can change very quickly. The plan includes the Olympics going ahead which is something that isn’t 100% confirmed at this time. The latest news indicates the Olympics will likely go ahead but without foreign fans allowed into the country.

World Rugby has made the difficult decision to recommend the postponement of Rugby World Cup 2021, scheduled to be hosted in New Zealand between 18 September-16 October, until next year. The recommendation will be considered by the Rugby World Cup Board and World Rugby Executive Committee on 8 and 9 March respectively.
