Bayside Sharks Senior Men’s Coaching Search:Extended to June 9th

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

– Lead the senior men’s rugby team and coaching staff on and off the field.
– Implement thorough practice plans (Tuesdays/Thursdays).
– Develop scalable individual player and team goals throughout the season.
– Proven ability to create a vision, establish buy-in, execute and drive performance to achieve results.
– Build and maintain strong and supportive relationships with the players, coaches, and managers.
– Work collaboratively with the club Executive, Director of Rugby, Senior Men’s Director, and Rugby committee.
– Where assigned, support the appointed Team Manager with all relevant off-field matters.

MLR 2023 – Week 16

MLR Week 16 Review: 37 Canadians in Action, 25 Starters, 12 Reserves – New England, San Diego, Old Glory, Seattle Clinch Playoff Spots

In the East New England (58) have clinched top spot and Old Glory (38) have clinched a playoff spot. New York (37) looks certain to claim the other playoff spot in the East with 2 weeks remaining. Atlanta (27) have a slim chance of catching NY. In the West it’s still a battle between San Diego (64) and Seattle (58) for top spot with San Diego having the lead. Seattle have clinched a playoff spot and just need a point in their remaining two games to ensure home field in the semi-finals. Houston (48) are leading the race for the final playoff spot with Utah (44) still in contention.

BC High School Rugby – June 2023

St. George’s Wins Boys AAA Title, Collingwood AA; Yale Wins Girls AAA Title, Shawnigan AA

The BC Provincial XVs wrapped up today with St. George’s winning the AAA, Collingwood the AA in the boys tournament, and Yale winning the AAA, Shawnigan the AA in the girls tournament.

There are at least 13 BC based players who are playing rugby in NZ right now. There’s a few in Australia as well, three that we have listed. If you have a chance, follow their clubs on social media, we’ve included the links below. We’ll update this article with new info as it becomes available.

MLR 2023 – Week 15

MLR Week 15 Wrapup: 41 Canadians in Action, 22 Starters, 19 Reserves; San Diego Leads West, New England Secures 1st Place in East

New England have secured 1st place in the east as they’re 20 points ahead of second place DC with only 3 games remaining. DC, NY, Atlanta and NOLA all still have a chance to claim the two remaining playoff spots. In the west it’s San Diego leading by 5 points over Seattle, with only those two teams in the running for top spot. Houston and Utah are competing for the last remaining playoff spot.

Hello, if you’ve made it back! Noah here again, and thanks for tuning in to BC Rugby News.

I first off want to say congratulations to the Canadian 7’s Men who avoided relegation in London this past weekend. It was by no means an easy task and you made a lot of people, including myself, extremely proud to be Canadian. Every one of you played with so much heart. It’s evident that we are making progress compared to our earlier performances this year, and I’m thrilled to watch the boys in August at the Olympic Qualifiers in Langford. Make sure to get out and support!

BC Boys High School Updates

Shawnigan won the Island final over Oak Bay 36-10, St. George’s defeated Carson Graham in the Mainland final 13-5. It’s likely those two teams will be top seeds in the Provincials coming up May 31st to June 3rd. Elgin Park defeated Lord Tweedsmuir 41-7 in the South Fraser championship.

MLR 2023 – Week 14

MLR Week 14 Wrapup: 36 Canadians in Action, 22 Starters, 14 Reserves; San Diego Leads West, New England Tops East

Little has changed in the standings from Week 13, San Diego and New England continue to lead their respective conferences. Seattle has closed the gap a bit on San Diego who now are only 5 points ahead, while Houston and Utah battle it out for the last playoff spot in the West. In the East, New England has increased the gap on top to 15 points with DC, NY and Atlanta in the hunt for the two remaining playoff spots.
