The U20 Junior World Championship Reaches Final Round: What’s in Store for Canada U20 in 2026

The U20 World Championships wraps up on Saturday with the semi-final rounds completed today. The World Rugby report is below, basically NZ and South Africa will meet in the final. Spain and Ireland will compete in the 11th place playoff, normally that would mean one of them would be relegated but not this year because the U20 Tier 2 competition is in flux and there was no JWRT this year. We’ll also look at what’s in store for the U20 Tier 2 competition next year and where Canada fits in. We finish with some comments from Karl Fix who took a U18 team to Germany this year and plans on taking a U19 team to Argentina next year.

St. George’s Win AAA Boys Championship, Collingwood Win AA Boys, G.P Vanier Win AAA Girls Championship, D.W Poppy Win AA Girls

The BC Provincial High School Championships wrapped up on Saturday with St. George’s defeating rivals  Shawnigan 31-12 to win Gold in AAA Boys. In AA Boys it was Collingwood over Robert Bateman 19-15. In Girls AAA it was G.P Vanier 18-10 over Gleneagle and in Girls AA it was D.W Poppy over Shawnigan 17-7. Belmont Win Senior and Junior Titles at Boys Island Rugby 7s High School Championship – Four Teams Qualify for Provincials – 29 Photos

Belmont, who have a strong synergy between their football and rugby programs, doubled up with both Senior and Junior titles in the boys Island high school rugby 7s championships. The top four teams in the senior bracket will advance to the Provincials in Abbotsford, joining Belmont will be Vanier (2nd), Spectrum (3rd) and GNS (4th).
