Coast to Coast Cup 2024

Coast to Coast Cup Kicks Off With Lopsided Wins for Atlantic Privateers and Arrows Academy

The Coast to Coast Cup kicked off yesterday without one coast represented, the Pacific coast. BC didn’t send a team this year, instead focusing on the Vancouver Highlanders and their semi-pro summer season.

The Halifax based host team and Arrows Academy are the core of the competition and they invited a couple of “lambs to the slaughter” to fill the numbers. The Saskatchewan team, Prairie Fire, were defeated 109-0 by the host team Atlantic Privateers. The Arrows Academy defeated Calgary Mavericks 48-10. It sets up an Atlantic Privateers v Arrows Academy final on Saturday.

The Privateers have a number of familiar names, at least seven of the starters played in BC last season,  mostly for the Pacific Pride, with several more in the reserves. The Arrows Academy are coached by Canada legend Jamie Cudmore. It should be a competitive final match. The Arrows Academy won the competition last year, the year before it was a Canada West team that dominated.

The match videos are posted below as well as the rosters for the Privateers and Academy.
