MLR Week 12 Wrapup: 12 Canadians in Action, 8 Starters, 4 Reserves; San Diego Leads West, New England Tops East

Only four matches in the MLR this week. San Diego furthers their lead in the west (49) going 10 points ahead of Seattle (39) who have a game in hand. New England continues to lead the east (38) with Old Glory taking 2nd (29) and NY holding onto 3rd place (28).

New York 54 – New Orleans 19

Andrew Coe scored two tries for NY and was the 3rd leading ball carrier with 140m made. It was the second time this season that Eric Howard was listed as starting hooker for NOLA and then pulled from the roster at the last minute.

San Diego 26 – Utah 16

A game winning try for Michael Smith getting his first start for San Diego after returning to MLR midway through the season. He was 2nd in running metres for San Diego (97m) and 4th in tackling (10). Djustice Sears-Duru started at loosehead for San Diego and Emerson Prior came on as a front row sub for Utah.

Old Glory DC 7 – Dallas 3

The match was called early due to lightning but the result stands as a complete match. Grady Bowd starting at #10 slotted one conversion, he was top at kicking metres (73m) and 3rd in running metres (48) for San Diego. Kyle Baillie was 3rd in tackles made for DC.

Atlanta 27 – Chicago 12

Jack Shaw scored a try for Atlanta and was 2nd in running metres with 106m. Matt Heaton was the top tackler for Atlanta with 14.
