MLR Week 10: 24 Canadian Players in Action, 11 Starting, 13 Reserve – Houston & Utah Top West, Chicago Top in East
There were 24 Canadian players in action in Week 10, 11 starters and 13 in reserve. Houston remains top in the West on total points but Utah have a game in hand and are top when considering points per match. Chicago are leaders in the East, with New England closing the gap. Shane O’Leary at fullback and Nic Benn on wing made the MLR team of the week.
New England 26 v Anthem 6
New England had Andrew Quattrin at hooker, Piers von Dadelszen at second row, Ben Lesage at outside centre and Brock Webster at fullback. In the reserves were Kyle Steeves #18, Josh Larsen #19, Conor Keys #20, Cameron Nordli-Kelemeti #21, Isaac Olson #22. Anthem didn’t have any Canadian players. Kyle Steeves and Conor Keys subbed on at 49′, Isaac Olson replaced Ben Lesage at 54′. Andrew Quattrin subbed off at 60′, Josh Larsen replaced Piers von Dadelszen at 60′. Isaac Olson scored a try at 72′. Cameron Nordli-Kelemeti subbed on at 73′.
Seattle 28 v Chicago 22
Dewald Kotze #16 and Brock Gallagher #21 were on the bench for Seattle. Chicago had Lucas Rumball at openside flanker and Matt Oworu at #8, Noah Flesch started at inside centre, on the bench was Jason Higgins #22. Dewald Kotze subbed on at 53′.
