MLR Week 11: 25 Canadian Players in Action, Houston/Utah Lead West, New England Top East
MLR Round 11 was a bit different as it started on Tuesday, ended on Sunday and 3 teams ended up playing twice! There were 25 Canadian players in action, 14 starting and 11 in reserves. Houston leads the West on total points but Utah with a game in hand lead in points per match. New England has overtaken Chicago to lead in the East.
New England 23 – LA 21
New England had Kyle Steeves starting at tighthead, his first start of the season, Kyle Baillie and Conor Keys started in the second row, Ethan Fryer started at blindside flanker, his first appearance of the season. Isaac Olson #11 and Brock Webster #15 started in the backline. In the reserves were Lindsey Stevens #16, a new addition to the team, Josh Larsen #19, Cameron Nordli-Kelemeti #21. LA had Matt Heaton in the reserves. Lindsey Stevens subbed on at 15′. Josh Larsen subbed on for Kyle Baillie at 21′. Isaac Olson subbed off at 38′. Matt Heaton subbed on at 40′. Kyle Steeves subbed of at 44′, he replaced Lindsey Stevens at 61′ and scored a try at 67′ and was replaced by Lindsey Stevens again at 68′. Kyle Steeves made the MLR Team of the Week in his first start.
Seattle 60 – Anthem 19
Anthem had Neil Trainor in the roster for the first time at #16. Seattle had Dewald Kotze starting hooker, Brock Gallagher #21 was in the reserves. Brock Gallagher subbed on at 40′ and scored a try at 52′. Neil Trainor subbed on at 51′ and subbed off at 58′ and subbed back on at 62′. Dewald Kotze subbed off at 61′.
San Diego 38 – LA 36
LA had Andrew Coe on the wing, in the reserves were Matt Heaton #20 and Seth Purdey #23. San Diego had no Canadian players. Matt Heaton subbed on at 59′. Seth Purdey subbed on at 67′
Houston 48 – Old Glory 27
Houston don’t have any Canadian players. Old Glory had Cali Martinez #17 and Logan Weidner #20 in the reserves. Logan Weidner subbed on at 36′ and off at 40′ and back on at 71′ and off at 75′ and back on at 76′. Cali Martinez subbed on at 40′.
Utah 41 – Chicago 31
Utah had Reid Davis starting at #8 and Nic Benn on the wing. Chicago had Mason Flesch at second row, Matt Oworu at #8, Noah Flesch at #12. Matt Oworu subbed off at 16′ and back on at 24′. Reid Davis subbed off at 40′. Nic Benn scored a try at 62′. Mason Flesch subbed off at 73′.
NOLA 44 – Seattle 36
New Orleans had Tyler Matchem #18 in the reserves. Seattle had Dewald Kotze #16 and Brock Gallagher #21 in the reserves. Dewald Kotze subbed on at 40′. Tyler Matchem subbed on at 61′. Brock Gallagher subbed on at 65′.
Miami 31 – Anthem 5
Miami had Josiah Morra on the wing and Guiseppe du Toit #23 on the bench. Anthem had no Canadian players in the roster. Guiseppe du Toit replaced Josiah Morra at 60′.
