Rugby Canada Announce Edmonton Clarke Stadium as Venue for Hosting Belgium and Spain in July
The Canada men’s XVs team will host Belgium and Spain at Edmonton’s Clarke Stadium in July. It will be Canada vs Belgium on Saturday July 12th and then Canada v Spain on Friday July 18th.

Seven Canadian Women Playing in Hong Kong 10s Tournament with HKFC Ice: Day 2 Quarter-Finals Live Stream Starts Today at 17:30 PT
The Hong Kong 7s starts tomorrow with the women’s team kicking off at 7:30pm PT against Japan. Meanwhile there’s another tournament taking place in Hong Kong that involves Canadian players, that’s the prestigious Hong Kong 10s. Canada doesn’t have a team entered but there are 7 Canadians on the Hong Kong Football Club women’s team, called the HKFC Ice.

Community Rugby Updates: Thunder Indigenous Rugby Celebration Recognizes Pacific Pride as Coastal Cup Winners, Phil Mack Indigenous Player of the Year Award, Thunder Youth Touring to NZ; BC Youth Groups Touring Over Spring Break
Thunder Rugby was a program started in 2013 to promote the sport of rugby to Indigenous youth, to give youth the opportunity to experience west coast Indigenous culture and to experience rugby and Indigenous culture world wide through rugby tours.

MLR Round 6 Summary 21 Canadians in Action, 10 Starters and 11 Reserve: San Diego Tops West, Chicago Tops East
MLR Round 6 saw 21 Canada eligible players in action, 10 starting and 11 in the reserves. Tyler Matchem and Kyle Steeves saw their first action in the reserves, Shane O’Leary got his first start, the first time a Canada eligible player started at #10 this season. Andrew Coe, Jack Shaw, Andrew Quattrin and Shane O’Leary scored tries.

Thanks to Peter Muirhead who put together these league tables for the weekend of March 22nd 2025. He’s included a playoff “snapshot” which will be updated each week as the standings change. He’s also added a new column “ROC” to monitor BC Rugby applied sanctions that need to be factored in to make the win/loss/points add up correctly.

There are 2 weekends of regular season left after this weekend, Week 15 and a Make-Up weekend in April. The playoffs start April 12th. A couple of teams are in must win scenarios in order to keep their playoff hopes alive, plus UBC v Meraloma features a battle for a first round playoff bye.

Comox Rapids U18 Girls in Scotland
The Comox Valley U18 girls team, the Rapids, are currently touring northern England and Scotland and doing quite well. They defeated Northern RFC, based in Newcastle, 24-22 in their first match. They then defeated Borders 59-5 in Melrose, Scotland and are finishing their tour up in Edinburgh. You can follow their tour on their Instagram account.
