World Rugby Sevens Challenger Series 2024

World Rugby Announce 2024 HSBC Sevens Challenger Series Schedule and Teams

The Tier 2 competition to gain promotion to the World Rugby 7s series has been announced along with the qualifying teams. Canada are in the Tier 1 competition but if either the men or women finish in places 9 to 12 at the end of the season, they’ll have to compete against the top 4 from this group in an 8 team tournament, the top 4 earning their place in the 2025 Tier 1 series.

On another fine fall afternoon the Ravens continued their homestand hosting the Capilanos before a good crowd which was bolstered by players and coaches visiting BC for the university championships being held in Langley at TWU. Among the visitors was Ontario referee Stephen Stothers-Robertson who handled the game well under the watchful eye of assessor Alan “Huddy” Hudson.

MLR 2024 League Structure Announced; Update on the National U20 and U18 Programs; MacDowell U19 to Mexico 7s

MLR have shown a bit about the 2024 season but haven’t released the schedule yet. There are a lot of questions around the U20 program and the JWRT tournament that haven’t been answered yet. There’s word that the U18 program is on the chopping block. MacDowell Rugby announce the girls team heading to the Mexico 7s.

Men’s University Rugby Championship 2023

UBC Claim 5th University Championship Title In Dominating Win Over UVic

It wasn’t a result many would have predicted, a 41-7 one-sided match in the final. These two teams met twice in October with the Vikes winning one +5 and the T-Birds winning the other +6. There didn’t appear to be much between the teams.
