Payton Teneycke Vancouver Highlander #14

Payton Teneycke Announced as 14th Signing for Vancouver Highlanders

Payton Teneycke has been named as the 14th Vancouver Highlanders signing. Payton has come through the Canada U18, Canada U20 and UBC pathway.

Another UBC player has been added to the Highlanders roster, that makes six so far including a potential all UBC front row of Teneycke, Bossi and O’Flaherty. Payton was selected to the University All Star team at tighthead prop in UBC’s latest championship run in November 2023.

Payton, as a number of BC players did last summer, went to the southern hemisphere to improve his rugby, spending the summer at Brothers Rugby Club in Australia.

In the summer of 2022 he was starting tighthead for Canada U20 in their series against Uruguay, Zimbabwe and Chile.

In 2020 he was on the Canada U18 team that toured to California. He was listed as from the Brandon Barbarians RFC club in Manitoba.

The Highlanders announced at the end of 2023 that they would announce their 25 player roster in 12 weeks. We’re now at 14 players over 7 weeks, so they’re well on track to announced the remaining 11 players over 5 weeks.

The Highlanders have also announced a Reserve Roster which they’ll fill out in due course. The first Reserve announcement was Keegan Neary from Victoria, currently playing for James Bay.
